Comissioning works gives you the opportunity to participate in designing a window. Scroll down for a brief description of how this custom design evolved from idea to reality.

Karen knew she wanted a stained glass window. . .but of what? After looking through pictures and books for ideas, Karen told me she had found a picture of ducks and she wanted to do something with ducks, but . . .As she showed me the picture she explained; "I don't want them like real ducks on a pond. My Dad used to carve ducks out of wood. I have some in a display cabinet and I'd like something more like that."
I paid Karen a visit and saw the ducks her Father had carved. In the course of our conversation it struck me that Karen wanted to create a memory of her Dad through his hobby. I suggested several ideas for incorporating replicas of his ducks into a design. But when I suggested that we could capture his ducks in a still life, as is he was working on one and had stepped away for a moment, well Karen's eyes lit up.
We didn't stop there of course. I took her Father's ducks back to the studio and made sketches, then developed three basic designs. Karen chose to start development of the 'still life' you see here.
